EE 697: Plagiarism

What is Plagiarism?

Basically it is:

  • Copying someone else's words without using quotation marks and citing the source.
  • Restating or summarizing someone else's original or specialized ideas without citing the source.
  • Pretending someone else's work is your own.

Avoid Plagiarism by developing good habits in terms of citing information

For instance, whenever you copy/paste from a document ALWAYS enclose it in quotation marks AND make a note of the source
