This guide is designed to provide a starting point for student and faculty research in Linguistics using both electronic and print resources; those resources may be provided by the CSULB Library or maybe freely available on the Internet.

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language.

This online reprint of the 2000 edition contains over 90,000 entries feature 10,000 new words and senses, 70,000 audio word pronunciations, 900 full-page color illustrations, language notes and word-root appendixes.

Dictionary search service that offers definitions from a variety of online English and foreign language dictionaries. Find the definition of a term, see terms that correspond to definition key words, or search for the correct spelling of a word.
