When using Google Scholar, it is helpful to ask yourself:

• Does it help me get relevant results?
• Will it search efficiently for what I need?

As a research tool, Google Scholar is good for some research, and not as good for others. 

For example----Google Scholar is good for...

• Helping a beginning researcher identify journals and authors that are connected with the topic.
• Locating hard to find articles that are proving difficult locate in conventional databases.
• Locating more information on partial citations or known citations.

Google Scholar cannot...

• Sort/search by disciplinary field
• Limit search results
