At CSULB we have a large collection of children's nonfiction found in Room 204.

To look for nonfiction titles in OneSearch, select Books & Media (CSULB), type "CSULB Children's Books" in the first box, your keywords in the second box and click search. When you see your list of results, use the Location limiter on the left side to select Children's Nonfiction.

Nonfiction Awards

AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prizes for Excellence in Science Books SCIENCE - celebrates outstanding science writing and illustration for children and young adults
Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards U.S. PUBLISHED - Winners are selected in three categories: Picture Book, Fiction and Poetry, and Nonfiction. Two Honor Books may be named in each category.
Children's Book Guild Nonfiction Award BEST AUTHOR - Awarded yearly to an author
Excellence in Nonfiction YA NONFICTION - YALSA award for best Nonfiction book written for teens.
Giverny Award SCIENCE PICTURE BOOK - Honors a children's science picture book written in the English language and published within five years of the award date. The book must teach its young reader at least one important scientific principle well, or encourage the reader toward specific science-related attitudes, pursuits, or inquiries. Books about plants and/or plant science or biology will have preference.
Golden Kite Awards SOCIETY OF AUTHORS - Given by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators in Fiction, Non-Fiction and Humor
Orbis Pictus Award for Outstanding Nonfiction ENGLISH TEACHER'S BEST NONFICTION - Promoting and recognizing excellence in the writing of nonfiction for children.
Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Medal BEST NONFICTION - Awarded annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished informational book published in the United States in English
