What is grey literature?

What is grey literature?

Grey Literature or "Gray Literature" is literature (often of a scientific or technical nature) that is not available through the usual bibliographic sources such as databases or indexes. It can be both in print and, increasingly, electronic formats. Materials include:

  • Bulletins
  • Committee Reports
  • Conference Proceedings
  • Government Documents
  • Unpublished Works

Grey literature is produced by government agencies, universities, corporations, research centers, associations and societies, and professional organizations.

HOW DO I FIND GREY LITERATURE IN EDUCATION?

The website for the Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) is an option to locate non-journal education literature.
