Services for Faculty

Librarian Liaison Program

Connect with your department librarian to discuss collections, services, and instruction.  Set up a research consultation for one on one in-depth search assistance.

Reserves

Request items to be put on reserve for your class.  Books and media can be held for limited check out times, and articles can be put on e-reserve for 24/7 access for your students.

Instruction

Request an instruction session with a librarian.  Your class can come to the library, or a librarian can come to you.  Topics can range from general use of library services to in-depth subject searching, information literacy and more.

Copyright

Find information about how copyright affects your teaching materials and how to comply with the law.  Or view the Library's Copyright Policy.

Interlibrary Services

Request items the library does not have.  With quick-turnaround services BeachReach and Link+ we can get items we don't own for you quickly.

Circulation

Renew books online, recall items, and find loan periods.  Faculty can check out books for 120 days, media (CDs, DVDs) for 7 days, and periodicals for 3 days at the circulation desk.

Scholarly Communication

Learn more about journal and author metrics, open access, copyright, current awareness and more.

Assignments

All library research assignments, particularly those given to large or multi-section classes, have a tremendous impact on the collections and services of our library. Prior to making such assignments, it is recommended that you consider sharing the planned assignment with your subject specialist and scheduling a library instruction session geared to the specific needs of your course, and putting appropriate materials on reserve.
