Data Management Plans

Use this guide to develop a Data Management Plan for your research. This is required by U.S. funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.

Funding agencies now require researchers to provide a data management plan as part of their funding proposals.

The Data Management Planning Tool developed by a group of major U.S. research institutions, offers ready-to-use templates to create data management plans for the NSF, NIH, NEH, NOAA, GBMF and IMLS. To get started, click here. Select "Option 2: If your institution is not affiliated with DMPTool," and you'll be able to create an account or login.
