Develop a Search Strategy Before You Begin

1. Identify your topic

2. Narrow your topic to specific key words and phrases. For Example:

Define your research topic, narrow your topic down to key word and phrases3. Identify your information needs, and select your search tools

Find periodical and journal articles

Find everything the CSULB library owns and all material types such as books, eBooks, media, articles, etc... Narrow your search by using the Advanced Search option and selecting the scope of your search in the top tool bar.

Find subject specific journals by entering main subject terms that describe your research topic
