TIP: Use a citation manager such as RefWorks or Zotero to build and share your research. For short research projects look for and use the built-in citation generators in Ebsco, CSA, and Porquest databases.

This guide is designed to provide an introduction for undergraduate research in Chicano & Latino Studies using human, print, or online resources; either those which CSULB provides, or that are freely available on the Internet.
An overview of issues and viewpoints on current areas of focus within the CSULB Chicano & Latino Studies Department are covered, including but not limited to the experiences of Latinos living in the U.S., the Caribbean, and Latin America; social dynamics and the structure of society; race, class, and gender; Latino literature; cultural studies; public policy development; theater, and education.
Research Paper Clinics
Each semester the University Library provides walk-in clinics for students who need research or writing assistance. A librarian and a staff from the Writing Center will be available for individual consultations. Research workshops on special topics are also offered.
