Many library systems in California participate in Universal Borrowing, meaning that any California resident with valid ID can get a library card in any of these libraries regardless of residence. Many libraries even allow you to obtain a card online (i.e., Los Angeles Public Library)!
Why is this useful? Having a library card for ANY of these libraries allows access to their digital resources from home. As each library has different resources, the more library cards you have the more resources available to you. All for FREE!
