When using Google Scholar, it is helpful to ask yourself:
- Does it help me get relevant results?
- Will it search efficiently for what I need?
As a research tool, Google Scholar is good for some research, and not as good for others.

- Helping a beginning researcher identify journals and authors that are connected with the topic.
- Locating hard to find articles that are proving difficult locate in conventional databases.
- Locating more information on partial citations or known citations.

- Sort/search by disciplinary field
- Limit search results
