Special Collections and University Archives is located on the 3rd Floor (Room 300) of the Library.

Citing Archival Sources: General Info

You may have to adapt the citation styles you are familiar with in order to cite primary sources.  An excellent guide is Purdue’s Primary Sources in Archives & Special Collections: https://guides.lib.purdue.edu/c.php?g=352889&p=2378064.  If you still need help, check with myself or another librarian.

Citing Archival Materials at CSULB

For materials found at CSULB Special Collections & University Archives, check the finding aid for citation information, and contact SPUA staff if you have any questions.

The general format for our material is:

[item name or description], folder [name or #], box [name or #], [Collection Name], Special Collections & University Archives, California State University, Long Beach.

Don't forget!:

Many materials in Special Collections & University Archives consist of published books or CSULB publications.  Your chosen citation style likely already has a recommended format for these items.
