Databases Overview and Demo

• ABI/INFORM: Search on “FMLA regulations” to find scholarly and news articles.
• IBISWorld: Search for industry impacts of the FMLA, such as in healthcare or retail.
• Global Road Warrior: Gather regulatory information on countries.
• Business Source Premier: Search for case studies or scholarly articles on FMLA in international companies.
• Westlaw: Search for the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Evaluating Sources Activity

• Scenario: You’re part of a team tasked with evaluating sources for a research project on the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). You’ll review different types of sources to determine their credibility and relevance.
• Sources to Evaluate (1 source per group):

• Padlet Exercise: Each group will evaluate their assigned source for credibility, considering factors like author authority, source type, publication date, and intended audience. Post your findings on Padlet, answering the following:
  • Is the source credible for understanding FMLA regulations and company impacts?
  • Would this source be useful for your HRM 458 team project? Why or why not?
