Ways to Share Your Data

There are many ways you can share your data with others. You can do any of the following:

Deposit in a discipline-specific data repository or archive.
- NIH-funded data may be deposited in any of the repositories listed on their website.
Deposit to CSULB's digital institutional repository, Scholarworks @ the Beach
Post online via a project or institutional web site
Submit data to journal
Cite your data in your work so others can find it

Policies for Reuse and Distribution

Identify who will be allowed to use your data, how they will be allowed to use your data and whether or not they will be allowed to disseminate your data. If you are planning on restricting access, use or dissemination of the data, you must explain how you will codify and communicate these restrictions.

Consider these questions:

Will any permission restrictions need to be placed on the data?
Which bodies/groups are likely to be interested in the data?
What and who are the intended or foreseeable uses / users of the data?
What are the ethical and legal considerations for reusing or sharing data?

Scholarworks @ the Beach!

Faculty can digitally archive their scholarly work (such as data sets, publications, presentations, white papers etc.) in Scholarworks @ the Beach, the University’s digital institutional repository.
