Observational: Observes participants / research population
Correlational: Questions how 2 or more variable are related
Experimental: participants are evaluated / examined under controlled conditions to measure how one variable affects another. Study consists of at least 2 random groups and a control group. The control group does not experience or receive the variable being tested, and the 2 groups are evaluated for the effect of the variable being investigated.
Quasi-Experimental: Pre-existing (not assigned groups) are evaluated / examined.
